Dear all,
The Poomsae/Technical training session will be held Saturday 13th March,10 ( 2.30 pm – 5 pm) at Old Trafford Community Centre, Old Trafford, Manchester M16 9AX The sessions will be good practice for the National Poomsae Championships in Sheffield on 27th/28th March and Sat 10th April UTA Black Belt grading in Manchester.
Open to all grade & Fee is £7.00 each

Taekwondo goes Sportaccord Games |

Taekwondo included into Beijing Combat Games 2010.
According to WTF, Taekwondo has been included into the Sportaccord Combat Games 2010 in Beijing. These Games will gather 13 combat sports including Aikido, Boxing, Ju-jitsu, Judo, Karate, Kendo, Kickboxing, Muay Thai, Sambo, Sumo, Wrestling, Wushu and Taekwondo. The opening ceremony will be on August 27th at the National Indoor Stadium in beijing and the games will last until Sept. 4th 2010.
Taekwondo will be staged together with Judo, Ju-jitsu and Karate at the same stadium where the Taekwondo competitions at the Olympic Games 2008 took place: the Technology University Gymnasium in Beijing. Besides competition, there will also be demonstrations and shows.
Participants will be invited by WTF according to the WTF ranking list. There will be a total number of 32 competitors in 4 olympic weight categories for men and women equally. One National Federation can send a maximum of 2 male and 2 female competitors, no more than 1 competitor per weight category is allowed. Invitations will be sent out very soon and National Federations have already been informed about details of this competition. |

Daedo Received WTF License |

Second Electronic Protector System Recognized by WTF.
According to MOOKAS, the Daedo electronic hogu is now officially approved by the World Taekwondo Federation.
Daedo has been researching and developing its system for several years. With its new system manufactured by Truescore, Daedo is now only the second electronic protective gear system along with LaJust approved by WTF.
Daedo first developed an electronic system in 2005. Since then, Daedo has undergone several tests and demonstrations organized by WTF. In May of 2009, Daedo presented its electronic system in Lausanne (Switzerland) and received positive remarks by the WTF committee which was crucial in obtaining WTF approval for its system.
Now that Daedo electronic system is recognized and approved by WTF, its system is now eligible for international competition use including the Olympic Games.

Congratulations to the following athletes who have been selected to represent GB at the upcoming WTF Qualification Tournament for the 2010 Youth Olympic Games to be held in Tijuana, Baja California, Mexico between March 3rd – 5th.
